McLaren Mastercard Formula 1 Team is venturing into the world of fashion through a unique collaboration with Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London. The creative project aims to reinterpret McLaren's 63-year heritage in a collection of runway looks.

## Exploring the Intersection of Fashion and Motorsport

The collaboration kicked off earlier this year, with McLaren hosting a series of talks and presentations at Central Saint Martins. The team provided students with tools, such as the XPS laptop, courtesy of partner DELL Technologies. The students developed concepts around McLaren's cutting-edge engineering in Formula 1, as well as the distinct aesthetics of uniforms worn by James Hunt and Ayrton Senna.

| Concept | Description | | --- | --- | | 12 Looks | Inspired by McLaren's 63-year motorsport history | | Cutting-edge Engineering | Formula 1 technology as a source of inspiration | | Uniforms | James Hunt and Ayrton Senna's iconic uniforms |

The resulting collection features 12 unique looks that showcase McLaren's contributions to the sport. According to McLaren Mastercard Formula 1 Team Chief Marketing Officer, Louise McEwen, "Formula 1 is influencing culture in ways we've never seen before." The Designed to Race collection explores this cultural influence through the eyes of the next generation of creative talent.

## A Collaboration Born from Creativity and Innovation

Central Saint Martins Course Leader for MA Fashion, Fabio Piras, believes that the most valuable learning happens when students are challenged to apply their creativity in real-world contexts. This collaboration gave students the opportunity to work with a powerful brand in global sport, applying their creativity to design wearable and inclusive collections.

The collection is set to be revealed ahead of London Fashion Week at McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, UK. Fans can get tickets to the show on September 16, 2026, by entering the competition on McLaren Racing Club.
