adidas Futurecool Styling Campaign Revealed
Dazed's Mirko Pedone styled the new 3D-printed adidas Futurecool sneakers for a campaign ahead of their April 2027 release.

adidas will globally release its new Futurecool 3D-printed sneaker in April 2027. Dazed Studio's campaign, styled by Senior Fashion Editor-at-Large Mirko Pedone and photographed by Simon Birk, aims to show the shoe's versatility beyond its technical origins.
The campaign moves the Futurecool from the lab into styled looks. Pedone took an instinctive approach to demonstrate how the sneaker could work across different wardrobes. "The great thing about adidas products is that, throughout history, they have been very versatile," Pedone explained. He noted his personal style often mixes adidas with non-sporty, fashionable pieces, a practice he sees among friends and style icons he admires.
Styling the Men's Looks
For one key men's look, Pedone highlighted red shorts as a central piece. He called them one of the season's trendiest items and a benchmark in the debate over men's shorts length. The look layered lightweight technical fabrics for the tops, including a coat, a windbreaker, and a shirt, all featuring pops of colour to be mixed freely.
Another men's look aimed for a smart-casual feel. Pedone wanted it to avoid feeling too literal or formal when paired with the sneaker. Lightweight technical fabrics were again essential. He sourced pieces from London-based designers, using an unlined technical blazer from Keogh Dewar and a sheer technical white shirt from Luca Fabry, combined with adidas items. The brief called for muted colours with pops of colour, leading Pedone to add a rubber Luca Fabry belt for a playful twist.
Crafting the Women's Look
For the women's styling, Pedone tried several options in fittings. The team ultimately selected the look that felt the most effortless and relatable. He described it as a sporty but elevated ensemble. The outfit featured an orange vintage Stone Island technical top, sourced from the SI archive Arco Maher in London.
The Futurecool sneaker itself builds on adidas's earlier Climacool 3D-printed design. While Climacool focused on breathability and a seamless structure, Futurecool introduces a more sculptural silhouette. This expands the technical possibilities of 3D printing into a form intended for daily wear.
adidas is holding a raffle for the sneakers on its CONFIRMED app on August 28, 2026, offering a chance to secure a pair before the global launch. The full campaign is viewable in a gallery on Dazed's site.
