Hobonichi Techo and POTR launch bag-like
Hobonichi Techo has revealed the 2027 'Stride' cover, a collaboration with lifestyle brand POTR that transforms the planner into a hands-free carry piece.
Hobonichi Techo has unveiled the 'Stride' cover for 2027, created in partnership with the lifestyle brand POTR. The cover, which launches on September 1, is designed to function like a small bag, wrapping the planner in a soft nylon fabric and including a detachable shoulder strap.
According to the announcement from Hobonichi Techo, the collaboration draws on the bag-making heritage of POTR's parent company, Yoshida & Co. The material is a key feature. Each cover uses a supple nylon that has undergone Yoshida & Co.'s signature bonding treatment, resulting in a matte, soft-touch finish.
Functional Design
The cover's layout is built for utility. A front flap pocket provides quick access to small items. On the back, a pocket secured with a snap fastener is sized for frequently grabbed essentials. Opening the zipper reveals an organized interior with dedicated storage slots.
Inside, users will find three card pockets and a clear pocket on the left side. The right side features a zippered mesh pocket. A pen hook is included, designed to hold slim pens directly or clip onto thicker ones. The included black shoulder strap is both removable and adjustable, enabling true hands-free carry.
Two Sizes, Two Colors
The 'Stride' cover launches in two versions, each tailored to a specific Hobonichi Techo planner size and presented in a distinct color.

The A6 version in peacock blue is intended as a stylish accent. The larger A5 Cousin cover comes in a deep evergreen, described as a composed green suited for work or leisure. The A5 model's back pocket is also noted as being roomier, with space to accommodate a smartphone alongside other documents. Both covers are finished with a circular logo stitched on the front.
By reimagining the cover as a self-contained carry item, POTR and Hobonichi Techo are positioning the planner as a daily companion for life outside the home. The 'Stride' covers will be available for purchase from the Hobonichi Techo online store starting September 1 at 11 a.m. Japan time.
