Levi’s Japan and Barbour have launched the “Re-Loved” capsule collection, a collaboration focused on upcycling vintage garments. The project merges Barbour’s existing repair program with vintage Levi’s 501 jeans to create unique, hybrid pieces.

The collaboration is built on a shared philosophy of repairing and extending the life of clothing. The centerpiece of the small collection is a reconstructed version of the classic Levi’s 501 jean.

The Re-Loved 501 Jean

Each pair of Levi’s x Barbour Re-Loved 501 jeans begins with a vintage 501 base. Artisans then rebuild them by hand using reclaimed materials from Barbour, including wax cotton, tartan fabric, and wide-wale corduroy. This process splices the two brands' signature textiles into a single garment.

Because every jean is assembled individually from collected and reused fabrics, no two pairs are identical. Each piece carries its own history of wear, repair, and regeneration, making them functionally one-of-a-kind items rather than mass-produced stock.

The Barbour Upcycling Framework

The Re-Loved project originated as a Barbour program centered on its iconic wax jackets. The initiative collects customers' unwanted jackets, cleans and mends them, re-waxes them, and returns them to circulation. This process aims to prolong a garment's usable life and recover its value instead of discarding it.

This capsule collaboration pushes that concept further by introducing vintage Levi’s denim and duck fabric into the mix. The project layers the two heritage brands' core materials so that each label's material story informs the other's.

Release Details and Accessories

The Levi’s x Barbour Re-Loved capsule releases on September 11. The launch will be handled through a specific sales method.

Registration for the lottery to purchase the jeans opens on the morning of September 11 at the Levi’s Harajuku Flagship Store. Alongside the denim, the capsule includes a set of collaborative pins. These accessories reference archive designs from both Levi’s and Barbour, offering a lower-commitment collectible item.

The pins will be sold more widely than the jeans. They will be available at the Harajuku flagship as well as the Shinjuku, Osaka, Nagoya Zero Gate, and Kyoto Levi's locations.
