HYKE has launched its first complete menswear collection for Spring/Summer 2027 alongside its latest womenswear line. According to the brand's runway presentation, the range reimagines heritage military and workwear codes through sharp tailoring and technical fabrics.
Engineered Menswear and Cohesive Themes
The new menswear line is distinctly engineered rather than simply being upsized versions of womenswear pieces. Designers Hideaki Yoshihara and Yukiko Ode have created both lines to share cohesive silhouettes and thematic codes while maintaining distinct tailoring and fits. The collection continues their exploration of modernized vintage uniforms.
Military-Inspired Outerwear and Tailoring
The season balances sharp tailoring with utilitarian outerwear. Key pieces draw directly from mid-century military equipment. These include PERTEX® M-65 field jackets, M-48 fishtail parkas, and spring flight blousons inspired by USAF CWU-36/P, CWU-106/P, and L-2A silhouettes. Modern tailoring is represented by slit-sleeve double-breasted blazers and lapelless jackets.
These are styled with ankle-cropped wool-mohair trousers and wide-leg M-51 Arctic-inspired drawstring pants. The palette is refined and subdued, focusing on dark blue, navy, indigo, black, and beige.
Collaborations and Accessories
The collection is raise through several key partnerships. A collaboration with British heritage brand Baracuta reimagines the iconic G9 jacket and the British Army Desert Storm Coat. These are crafted in high-density "Baracuta Cloth" and lined with a custom beige and black Fraser Tartan.
Accessories include modular tote bags created with BRIEFING, featuring detachable pouches inspired by US Army ALICE packs. Jewelry developed with END CUSTOM JEWELLERS transforms metal plates and chains into earrings, rings, and necklaces.
Footwear collaborations span several brands, offering a range of styles from elegant slides to utilitarian sneakers.
Fabrics and Layering
Light layers in the collection include layered US Navy utility shirts, gradient-striped Basque sweaters, and heavy Tilden sweaters. Delicate elements are introduced via sheer knits and pleated skirts. Fabrics range from technical materials like SOLOTEX® and taslan to sheer wool and crochet knits, supporting the collection's layered vision of contemporary uniform dressing. The final look is a cohesive presentation built on a foundation of heritage codes and modern fabrication.
